Hansen CSM Knowledge App
An international supplier of machinery for plastic injection molds was in need of a digital experience to support machine technicians. This intuitive app provides users with a streamlined experience to search for solutions, access recently viewed documents, save relevant content, and submit solutions – allowing for a more efficient workflow for technicians now and over time as more solutions are logged through the app.

My Role
User Interface Designer on the Hansen CSM Knowledge App team responsible for supporting wireframe design and developing the design system, interface, and interaction design.
The Goal
To create a net new web app leveraging Material design framework and native functionalities that would streamline machine troubleshooting for technicians while providing them with a way to document and share successful solutions with other technicians.

Our CX team partnered with business analysts and product owners to gather requirements, determine user flows, and prioritize functionality for MVP. The ability to search for solutions to issues from anywhere in the app was highest priority. We then leveraged the IA to determine the main screens that would be accessible via the tab bar across the app.
Visual Design
With this being Hansen’s first-ever digital product, I was provided with only a font, four colors, and a primary button style to work with. With a four-week timeline, I was tasked with developing the overall look and feel of the app and ultimately delivering a UI kit and style guide that could be used not only for this app, but also for Hansen’s future digital products.
Results
The Hansen CSM Knowledge App successfully launched early 2021. The implementation of this product led to another phase of partnership between CapTech and Hansen, building on this same UI kit and design framework for a second app build.
